Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Shimla
When you arrive in Shimla, meet your driver who will take you to Chitkul – the last village before the Indo-China border. On the way, you’ll see the scenery change from thick forests to open green fields, apple orchards, and rocky mountains. You will also pass through Sarahan and Rampur Bushahr. Once you reach Chitkul, enjoy a meal at the famous ‘Hindustan ka Akhri Dhaba’. After that, check in to your hotel or homestay for the night.
Day 2: Chitkul to Nako
After checking out from your hotel in Chitkul, your driver will take you to Nako, a peaceful village near the Indo-China border in the Trans-Himalayan region. You’ll drive through the beautiful Kinnaur Valley and see the meeting point of the Spiti and Satluj Rivers from the Khab Bridge. Once you reach Nako, check in to your hotel. Later, your driver will take you for local sightseeing. Visit the quiet and calm Nako Monastery and spend a relaxing evening near Nako Lake. Then return to your hotel for the night.
Day 3: Nako to Kaza and Local Sightseeing
After checking out, your driver will pick you up and take you to Kaza, a beautiful town in Spiti. On the way, you will cross Sumdo and take a turn to visit Gue Village, which is home to a 500-year-old mummy. Next, visit the famous Tabo Monastery, also called the ‘Ajanta of the Himalayas’. Continue your trip to Pin Valley National Park, where you may get a chance to see a Snow Leopard. Later, reach Kaza and check in to your hotel or homestay for the night.
Day 4: Sightseeing around Kaza
Your driver will pick you up from the hotel for a sightseeing tour around Kaza. Start by visiting Komik, the highest village in Asia. Then head to Hikkim to see the world’s highest post office. After that, visit Langza Village and see the Lang Temple. Next, explore the beautiful Key Monastery and continue to the peaceful Kibber Village. Later, stop by the famous Chicham Bridge before returning to your hotel in Kaza for the night.
Day 5: Kaza to Kalpa via Dhankar
Post check-out, the driver will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to Kalpa. On the way, take a left to visit the majestic Dhankar Monastery. Continue your journey towards Kalpa and take a right from Powari towards ReoKong Peo, the main town of Kinnaur district. Reach Kalpa, from where you can spot the Kinnaur Kailash Peak and check-in to your camp / homestay for an overnight stay
Day 6: Kalpa to Shimla
Check out from your camp or homestay in Kalpa and meet your driver for the journey back to Shimla. Enjoy the ride along winding roads beside the Satluj River and through beautiful Deodar forests. Reach Shimla, the capital city, and head home with lots of wonderful memories.
