Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Guwahati | Transfer to Bhalukpong
Welcome to Guwahati, the gateway to Northeast India. After you arrive at Guwahati Airport, you will be taken to Bhalukpong, a beautiful town known for adventure activities. The Kameng River flows through this town, offering fun activities like river rafting and canoeing. Check in to your hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace. You can try some adventure sports by the river if you like. Return to the hotel whenever you are ready.
Day 2: Transfer from Bhalukpong to Dirang | Explore the hubs of tribes and diverse culture
Check out from the hotel and begin your journey to Dirang. On the way, visit Tippi Orchid Research Centre, famous for its collection of over 500 types of orchids. Then, stop at Nag Mandir to pray and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Continue your drive to Dirang, check in to your hotel, and relax for a while. Later, go for a city tour and visit the apple and kiwi farms (seasonal), Dirang Monastery, and Kalachakra Monastery. After the tour, return to the hotel for the night.
Day 3: Transfer from Dirang to Tawang | Embrace the Himalayan Heights
Check out from the hotel and travel to Tawang, which is 10,000 feet above sea level. On the way, enjoy the beautiful views of Sela Pass with its snow-covered mountains and the clear Sela Lake. Visit the Jaswant Garh War Memorial to learn about the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Then, head to Nuranang Falls and admire the clean, flowing water and green scenery. After the sightseeing, reach your hotel in Tawang, check in, and relax for the rest of the day.
Day 4: Tawang Local Sightseeing with Bum La Pass (optional) | Visit the biggest Buddhist Monastery in India
Today is for local sightseeing in Tawang. You can start with a short trip to Bum La Pass, the highest mountain pass in the state. Then, visit the famous Shonga-tser Lake, also known as Madhuri Lake, named after actress Madhuri Dixit. After that, enjoy the peaceful surroundings at Taktsang Gompa. Finally, explore Tawang Monastery, the largest Buddhist monastery in India. After visiting these places, return to your hotel and relax.
Day 5: Transfer from Tawang to Bomdila | Get the views of West Kameng Valley eloped in the clouds
In the morning, check out from the hotel and start your drive to Bomdila. Once you arrive, check in to the hotel and relax for a bit. Later, visit Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery (Upper Gonpa) and Thub-Chog Gatsel Ling Monastery (Lower Gonpa). After exploring the monasteries, return to the hotel. In the evening, you can take a short walk around the town to see its unique culture and traditions.
Day 6: Journey from Bomdila to Guwahati
Check out from the hotel and start your journey to Guwahati. Enjoy a scenic drive through the beautiful landscapes of Arunachal Pradesh, passing by small towns and stunning views. Once you reach Guwahati, check in to your hotel and relax for the rest of the day. You can visit lively markets like Fancy Market and Paltan Market for shopping. Afterward, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 7: Departure
Check out from the hotel and head to Guwahati Airport or railway station for your journey back home. On the way, stop at Kamakhya Temple, an important Hindu site where you can seek blessings from Goddess Kamakhya and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere.
