Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Siliguri | Transfer to Gangtok | Leisure Day
Welcome to Siliguri! Upon arrival at the airport or railway station, you’ll be transferred to Gangtok. After checking into your hotel, relax and enjoy the day at your own pace. You can visit Phodong Monastery, known for its stunning murals, or explore Tashiding Monastery, located on a hill and famous for its sacred relics and the lively Bhumchu festival. In the evening, take a walk through Lal Bazaar, where you can shop for local crafts and enjoy tasty street food before heading back to the hotel.
Day 2: Gangtok Sightseeing Tour
Today, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Gangtok. Visit Tsomgo Lake, a stunning glacial lake known for its beauty and ever-changing colors with the seasons. Then, head to Nathu La Pass, the highest motorable road in the world, located at over 14,000 feet, which connects India and China. You’ll also visit Baba Mandir, a shrine dedicated to Baba Harbhajan Singh, an Indian soldier who served during the Sino-Indian War of 1967. Afterward, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Lachen - Gurudongmar Lake - Lachung
Today, check out of the hotel and head to Lachen, a charming village in North Sikkim, nestled in the Himalayas. On the way, stop at Chungthang Town, where you can see the confluence of the Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu rivers. Upon arrival in Lachen, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax. You can also explore the scenic village, interact with the locals, and learn about their culture and lifestyle. Afterward, return to the hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Transfer to Lachung | North Sikkim Sightseeing Tour
Today, after checking out of the hotel, you will head to Lachung. Along the way, enjoy a scenic tour of North Sikkim, where you’ll be amazed by the beautiful Gurudongmar Lake, situated at an altitude of 17,800 ft. You’ll also stop to see the stunning Bhim Nala Waterfalls, which drop from a height of about 70 ft. Once you arrive in Lachung, check in to your hotel and relax for the night.
Day 5: Transfer to Gangtok | In route Visit Yumthang Valley | Leisure Day
In the morning, check out from the hotel and begin your drive to Gangtok. On the way, visit Yumthang Valley, known as Sikkim’s very own “Valley of Flowers.”
After exploring the valley, continue your journey to Gangtok. Once you arrive, check in to your hotel and take some time to relax.
If there’s still time, you can head out and explore the city on your own. Some recommended places to visit include Reshi Hot Spring, Pemayangtse Monastery, and Kabi Lungchok.
Later, return to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay.
Day 6: Transfer to Darjeeling | Leisure Day
After completing the checkout process, you will be transferred to Darjeeling. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and spend the rest of the day at your leisure. You may choose to explore the picturesque city at your own pace, visiting popular spots like Nightingale Park with its lush greenery, the beautiful colonial-era St. Andrew’s Church, and the revered Mahakal Mandir. You can also hike up to Observatory Hill to enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Later, return to your hotel for a relaxing evening.
Day 7: Darjeeling Sightseeing Tour
Today, you will go on a city tour, starting with a visit to Tiger Hill to see the beautiful views of Mt. Kanchenjunga. After that, visit the Peace Pagoda and the Batasia Loop, famous for its lovely railway track. You will also see the Ghoom Monastery, the Tibetan Refugee Centre, and the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute to learn more about the local culture and history. Then, visit the Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, which is home to many rare animals. After the tour, you will be driven back to your hotel.
Day 8: Transfer to Siliguri | Departure Day
Check out from the hotel and drive to Siliguri. Once you reach New Jalpaiguri Railway Station or Bagdogra International Airport, you can catch your train or flight back home, ending your trip.
